Database doesn’t show when creating a data source for Performance Point Dashboard Designer

I wasn’t here for some time that I was busy coding some SQL and JavaScript so there was no problems that acctualy I could write off here. In last days I have to do some maintenance jobs for our cilent so few interesting problems shows up.

If you using Performance Point Dashboard Designer and you trying to connect to your database and dropbox won’t show your database that you are after

The first soulutuion to this problem is to check that you are using SharePoint Enterprise vesrion and you not using trail vesrion that has been evaluated already.

Secondly permissions have to be setup right for created OLAP database and Analysis Services.

In the last step if problem still show up is navigate to \Program Files\Microsoft Office Servers\15.0\WebServices\PpsMonitoringServer. Open the web.config file. It should be located in the same directory as PerformancePointService.svc. At the very bottom of the file, you should see an block contained within a block, like this:

<runtime>
    <assemblyBinding xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1">
      <dependentAssembly>
        <assemblyIdentity name="Microsoft.AnalysisServices.AdomdClient" publicKeyToken="89845dcd8080cc91" culture="neutral" />
        <bindingRedirect oldVersion="9.0.0.0" newVersion="10.0.0.0" />
      </dependentAssembly>
    </assemblyBinding>
</runtime>

Change the values in the element from oldVersion=”9.0.0.0″ to oldVersion=10.0.0.0″ and from newVersion=”10.0.0.0″ to newVersion=”11.0.0.0″.

I hope this help!
